POEM: NO LOVE
NO LOVE…
Hello, spirit; excuse my human side;
Something I cannot let slide;
It’s time to stop swimming against the tide;
So, I won't write like those who lied.
…
Firstly, love is subverted;
Preaching prosperity to our lack;
Calming the wounded with unreal peace;
When will we call black things black?
Bride price or price tag; what is a commodity?
More like licensing a punching bag;
Or glorified slavery?
On whom did their masters hang pain tags?
Teachers proudly lied in class;
We studied and dug up truths;
Then they looked stupid and withheld our marks;
Failed us, and called us dumb, lazy youths.
Humans make and sell guns and bombs;
Each time these things kill,
Some are happy to gain over tombs;
Dark and empty hearts, love should fill.
Every truth has been toggled;
Each discovery worsens our fate.
Heroes' mandates are stolen, troubles double;
Those who tried to cast have dropped late.
Leaders are full of darkness and danger.
Hurting the masses who cared to vote;
Leaving all the poor in a manger;
Enacted laws, like knives to our throats.
God's fear is no longer genuine.
Call it evil and greed; I’d say there’s no love;
Since our outlets got no love on the menu;
Heaven must have been shut from above…
